
DARJEELING / GANGTOK
Day 1 :
Upon arrival in Bagdogra Apt / New Jalpaiguri stn - Darjeeling by surface. Morning arrive at Bagdogra airport, your gateway to the Eastern Himalayas. Upon arrival you will be transferred to Darjeeling by surface approx. 110 kms and a pleasant 3 hours drive away. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 2 : Darjeeling : Full day Local tour
Early morning sunrise excursion to Tiger hill en-route visit to Yigacholing Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop and the War Memorial. After breakfast full day local tour covering HMI, Himalayan Zoological Park, Tibetan Self Help Centre and nearest tea garden to witness the orthodox manufacturing of Darjeeling tea. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 3 : Darjeeling - Gangtok
Morning after breakfast you depart for Gangtok, (110 kms, 5 hrs drive) the capital of Sikkim. Lunch will be en route. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 4 : Gangtok
On this tour we visit the Enchey Monastery, the Do Drul Chorten, the Research Institute of Tibetology, Purba Chorten, Government Institute of Cottage Industries (GICI) and excursion to Ganesh Tok and Hanuman Tok which offers the breathtaking view of Gangtok town and its surrounding valleys including the Himalayas. O/N Hotel.
Day 5 : Gangtok
AM: Excursion to Tsangu lake. PM: Drive to Martam via Rumtek Monastery, 30 kms from Gangtok . Overnight at Martam Village Resort.
Day 6 : Martam – Phuentsholing (210 km, 7 hrs).
A lovely drive during which the emerald coloured river Teesta serenades you on its tumultuous journey to the plains. To day you will be driving through the sub-himalayan parts in the eastern India, which presents a large range of foothill forests crawling with wildlife, famous tea gardens, transparent rivers interspersed with quiet villages and small townships of vibrant culture before arriving Phuentsholing the bustling border town of Bhutan. Our guide will hand over the clients to the Bhutanese counterpart.
